Filmmaker Bio - John DerevlanyJohn Derevlany's head

John Derevlany has worked in TV animation for many years, but only as a writer (and, yes, most cartoons are actually produced from written scripts). "Snot Bubble Boy" is his first completed work as an artist and animator. He is still trying to figure out how to draw, so he continues to work primarily as a writer and/or producer in TV cartoons.

He has written the pilots for several successful animated shows, including "Gerald McBoing Boing" (Cartoon Network), "Wayside" (Nickelodeon), and "Monster Buster Club" (Disney XD). He was also a head writer on "Kick Buttowski" (Disney XD) and created the live-action, Discovery network, puppet dance show, "Jim Hensons' Animal Jam".

Derevlany, who composed and performed the music in "Snot Bubble Boy," has written several hundred songs, some of which can be found floating around the internet. He was also a co-founder of the early `90s, speed-metal ukulele band, Uke Til U Puke.

He lives in the Los Angeles area with his beautiful wife and two beautiful children, both of whom complain only slightly when he makes songs or movies about them. For more info, see his website: mycomputerhatesme.com.
